Trigger to use social media

Just realised that whenever I have an inconvenient thought either from the past (regret) or into the future (fear or uncertainty) the body reacts by looking to open social media apps like Instagram or Twitter (X).

These apps have figured out how to replace our coping mechanisms. Since its unnatural for an external system to take care of our internal systems, I think a lot of deliberate effort needs to be put to overcome this phenomenon. Since these companies make tremendous amounts of money and with the advent of AI, believe these apps are going to become even more powerful. Its best to avoid them from now itself else believe our minds will be hijacked by the advertising budgets of companies.
